 Locomotive cab air-conditioning

The Locomotive cab air-conditioning systems are designed to maintain the climatic conditions in the operator's cabin and can be installed in different types of locomotives (ТЭ114И, ТЭП150, 2М62, 2TЭ116У, ТЭМ103).

Advantages:

  • ability to work in manual (ventilation, heating, cooling) and automatic mode (climate control);
  • the ability to control the outside air damper - if necessary, include recirculation (no intake of external air);
  • reliable cooling of the innverter (integrated into the refrigerating machine and cooled by recirculation air flow), achieving operation at high ambient temperatures;
  • reduction in starting current and accurate control of cooling due to the frequency control performance of the compressor and fan;
  • inverter does not require maintenance during operation.

Construction

Locomotive cab air-conditioning includes:

-  chiller;

-  switchboard;

-  control panel;

-  temperature probe.

Refrigerating machine is designed as one-piece design.

Control panel is designed to supply power to all units of the air conditioner from on-board network, and includes protective and switching equipment.

The control panel is designed to control the operation of the air conditioner.

The temperature sensor is used to measure the air temperature in the operator's cabin to operate the air conditioner.

The electrical part

The static power inverter for compressor and fan is based on a single power conversion, which allows for exclusion of the  transformer. The transmitter is located in the evaporative compartment of the chiller.

For ease of replacement in the event of failure, the inverter is designed as a single unit in the cooler. All connections to the transducer are detachable.

For 110-V DC air conditioners the compressor is equipped with an induction motor with a nominal line voltage of 80 V. For 220/380-V AC air conditioners a 220/380 V motor is installed.
