REN2ST

Test stand REN2ST

Test stand REN2ST of generators, motor-wheel units and electrical equipment of railway vehicles

The test stand is designed to control the electrical equipment drive motor speed in accordance to the required technological modes and methods of testing.

The stations are based on specialized frequency inverters (FC), performed on the bipolar voltage inverter (IGBT) and equipped with a microprocessor controller.

REN2ST – control station.
DM – drive motor.
G – generator.

Figure1 - Functional chart of REN2ST switching on for test stand of motor wheel unit cranking.

Performance of motor-wheel unit cranking:

•  Minimum engine acceleration and braking – 0,1 Hz/s.
•  Maximum engine acceleration and braking are defined by the current capacity of the station and engine, maximim 50 Hz/s.
•  Engine shutdown – normal braking, by gradual decreasing of input frequency or dynamic braking (drag brake).

Control:

1) Directly from the built-in remote control.

2) Remotely via the remote panel (PC, Notebook).

3) With quantized input signals.

The station provides a smooth transition to a given fixed frequency by the following commands:

At the command «Start – frequency 1» frequency inverter (FI) jumps to the output frequency 1, given in the memory of FI with given speed. If the voltage was not applied to the motor, this command is equivalent to the command «Start» with acceleration up to frequency 1. If FI was working with frequency 2 (more than frequency 1), when the command «Start – frequency 1» is issued, the FI is slowing down to frequency 1 with given speed. At the command «Stop» the voltage of the motor is removed or the smooth decrease in frequency at the output of the FI to zero is performed.

Diagrammatic work of electric drive.

Figure 2. Example of diagrammatic work of REN2ST.

Acceleration time Tр is defined as Tр=(f2-f1)/temp, where f1 and f2 – frequency 1 and frequency 2 accordingly; temp –frequency drift (for acceleration and breaking is set separately).
Relay output signals of FI: «Accident», «Output voltage of FI».
Station’s settings adjustment is performed by using the integrated control panel with the stopped drive motor off.
